ARMILIAH ARIPIN FILM EDITOR

I am a Malay editor based in London. Originally from Singapore, I started out as a tape operator and rose through the ranks in the editing department. I spent a decade editing TV documentaries (Nat Geo, Discovery, A+E), dramas and promos (NBC, BBC, MTV) before moving to the UK in 2018 to pursue an MA in Editing at the NFTS.

 

My short films spanning fiction, documentary and animation have garnered nominations and special recognition at the student BAFTAs, the Annies, the RTS Awards as well as LFF, TIFF, Locarno, and SXSW.

 

In 2022, I edited my first feature film Ajoomma, which premiered at Busan Film Festival and received four nominations at the Golden Horse Film Awards. It was also selected as Singapore’s Official Submission to the 95th Academy Awards.

 

Recently, I completed work on my second feature film Dreaming & Dying which won two prizes (Golden Leopard – Filmmakers of the Present and Swatch First Feature Award) at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival.

 

I am particularly drawn to films which are a little weird, dark and funny, so do get in touch if you're the same.
