Armiliah Aripin Film Editor

about

I’m a Singaporean Malay film editor based in London. I began my career as a tape operator and spent over a decade editing TV documentaries, dramas and promos for broadcasters including National Geographic, Discovery, A+E, NBC, BBC and MTV, before moving to the UK in 2018 to complete an MA in Editing at the National Film and Television School.

My short films - spanning fiction, documentary and animation - have received nominations and special recognition from the student BAFTAs, the Annies and the RTS Awards, with work showcased at Sundance, Berlinale, TIFF, BFI London Film Festival, Busan, Locarno and SXSW.

After editing my first feature, Ajoomma (four Golden Horse Film Award nominations and Singapore’s Official Submission to the 95th Academy Awards), I went on to edit Dreaming & Dying, which won two awards at Locarno '23, and Mare’s Nest, winner of the Pardo Verde at Locarno '25.

I’m drawn to off-kilter films that are strange, dark and funny. If that sounds like your kind of thing, say hello@armiliah-aripin.com.
